Attorney Profiles

Scott E. Miller is a Pennsylvania trial lawyer whose practice is equally well known for his successes as a litigator and transactional lawyer. Resident in Lower Merion, his client base includes Philadelphia and the surrounding areas of Ardmore, Norristown, Media, Wayne, Harrisburg, Lancaster, West Chester, Paoli and Willow Grove.

Mr. Miller is a relentless advocate for his clients. In over 30 years he had held a variety of roles in-house and in private legal practice. These experiences have provided Scott with the ability to view legal challenges and opportunities from the vantage point of his clients, positioning him to intimately relate to their situations, walk in their shoes, and work tenaciously on their behalf, quickly and cost-effectively.

While attending Drexel University he worked as an intern, initially with a general building contractor and later at a major Philadelphia law firm. After receiving his law degree, Mr. Miller served as judicial law clerk in the court of common pleas, the trial division of the Pennsylvania court system and taught business and contract law at Drexel University's LeBow College of Business.

Mr. Miller then launched his practice as a solo practitioner in Chester County while brokering commercial real estate transactions and working as legal counsel to several brokerage firms. In 2000 he joined a client's Lancaster County car dealership as business and legal counsel and assisted its rapid growth in becoming a regional player covering Berks, Chester, Delaware, Dauphin and Lancaster Counties.

During this time Mr. Miller negotiated, structured and documented the mergers and acquisitions of new business assets and real estate, formed new business entities, structured real estate land development and lease agreements and pursued and defended related litigation in the federal and state courts.

Mr. Miller re-established his legal practice in 2005, focusing on representing privately held companies and counseling and advising their owners on small business planning, business formation and the structuring and restructuring of business entities, buy-sell agreements, contract preparation and disputes, commercial and residential real estate transactions and disputes, building and construction law, and alternative dispute resolution.

Scott received his Juris Doctor from The Temple University Beasley School of Law and his B.S. from Drexel University where he received a combined degree in commerce and engineering sciences. A life-time resident of the Philadelphia area, Mr. Miller was in the 228th graduating class of Central High School, the second oldest continuously public high school in the United States.

Scott is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Business and Real Estate sections of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
